Caroline Larsen
Born 1980 in Toronto. Lives in Brooklyn, New York
Caroline Larsen’s paintings are both recognizable and abstract. With thick oil paint and the use of color, pattern and texture the artist explores the sensation of being immersed in a tropical landscape. Her interest in flora stems from growing up in Florida and spending time in Panama as an adult. The results are seductive and tactile paintings often mistaken for vibrant tapestries.
Caroline Larsen received a BA from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute.
